It's not looking good for a second season of The Dresden Files. :( For a show on Scifi that started out p r e t t y slowly, I came to adore TDF. Paul Blackthorne and Terrence Mann worked so well together in their roles as Harry Dresden, the wizard PI, and Bob, the ghost of a damned sorcerer, that the whole family became devoted fans. What a great Sunday night TV lineup it was with TDF scheduled before Battlestar Galactica.
The Dresden Files has a Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibe about it--not in an obvious way--but at its core TDF is a subverted myth that deftly, and with a lot of heart, plays against all the expected norms of the hard boiled PI genre. I'm hoping that the producers can peddle the show to USA Network, where it could nestle in comfortably with The 4400 and The Dead Zone, as well as Monk and Psych.

Thanks for the encouragement. Though I admit to failing hope, I'll head over to dresdencity.org and join in the campaign. :)
