Back to school!

I'm living the dream, back to school after 40 years, at Simmons School of Library Science, in archives management. Started in fall 2016 and am taking a course a term until I'm finished, or reach 6 years, whichever comes first. Fall term I took an introductory overview of library science and this term I'm taking reference services. I am loving it. Some aspects have been particularly challenging: reading for retention, my peers don't seem to have any trouble but I read very slowly and it takes 10 to 12 hours a week to do the reading; scholarly writing, though I've worked for a scholarly journal for 17 years, I'm just learning how to write like a scholar for the first time; finding common ground with fellow students, I'm most of my peers' grandma's age so not an easy interaction. All of this has been daunting and yet I'm delighted to have this opportunity. Thank you Simmons!
